A California pool contractor is charged with illegal discharging of chemicals after he was discovered pumping water out of a pool and into the municipal catch basin system, which ran into a stream. Police said the contractor, Alfred Orotund Pena, 38, was cited for an unclassified misdemeanor under State Environmental Conservation Law for “contravening water standards.” Don’t trust just anyone to clean your pool.
