Nothing is as beautiful as the pairing of fire and water. Here are some tips on implementing them in your swimming pool setting. Separate the Fire and Water You might almost think that this tip will get you the exact opposite results of what you’re trying to achieve. However, in most cities, it is against code to mix electrical systems with water. So, of course, we don’t want to be breaking any laws here. In addition, mixing those two systems would make it very prone to maintenance issues. How, then, can you get the fire to appear to be coming out of the water if you’re not mixing them? Well, most fire and water designs follow a relatively simple template....

Everyone loves exposed aggregate surfaces. Designers are drawn to their color depth and richness. Installers like that they have less problems due to their durability. And…of course, customers love them because they win on both counts. But this is definitely not a DIY. This article will describe some of the different finishes for aggregate surfaces that you might apply to your swimming pool. Glass Bead Finishes These materials mix with colored, translucent glass beads with white or pigmented plaster. This finish is what most closely resembles glass tile.
A question that swimming pool owners commonly ask is, “I see air bubbles swirling around my debris trap inside my pool pump and I don’t seem to be losing any water in my pool.” Well, there are two reasons why you would see air in the trap. The first, is that you have a clog in the plumbing. This will cause the pump to cavitate creating the air swirling inside. A way to check for a restriction is putting the filter into backwash mode and checking to see if the normal amount of water is being flushed out. If the water is running slow then you will need to find out what is stopping or clogging that flow of water...

You’ve already made all of your preparations to have a good time in your swimming pool. You had a successful start-up. The water is a beautiful blue, clean as a whistle, and irresistibly inviting. This would also be a great time to make sure that you’ve taken every possible safety precaution. It would be a terrible thing to have someone get injured, or worse, in or around a swimming pool that was meant to be enjoyed. To be safe, make sure that you have a pool alarm so that you are notified each time someone has entered the pool area. This is especially important if you have children that tend to play around the pool. Pool fencing can also be used...

It can be quite costly to heat up a swimming pool because of its shear size and quantity of water. It can require quite a bit of energy, and most conventional pool heaters are very inefficient. On occasion, propane, fossil fuels, and even natural gas may be used to warm up the pool water. However, in this post, we will share some simple changes to your pool maintenance routine that will reduce the cost of heating up your swimming pool. 1. Use a Solar Cover A swimming pool solar cover is a floating cover that insulates the surface of the pool water.
